Irrational Portrait Gallery

I became inspired to start painting portraits again after a visit to the British Museum in 1997 to see an exhibition of Egyptian Funerary Art from 2000 years ago. The portraits on this pages date from 2005 to 2020.

The vivid, mostly primary, colours are intended to have a life-affirming effect on the viewer, perhaps with the sense of having a revelatory vision, a mild migraine or recovering from a hangover.
